First Presbyterian Church of Bismarck is a vital congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The congregation was founded in 1873, and is the oldest church in North Dakota of any denomination.
The church is moderate and median in theological orientation and encourages a thoughtful, yet felt, orientation to the faith. The congregation sponsors worship in several styles consistent with its heritage, promotes Christian education for all ages, and seeks to serve the human family, here and around the world, addressing the needs of the whole person, body and soul.
The congregation is a warm and welcoming community eagerly anticipating the future and welcoming of others who wish to join its worship and work. This congregation's aim is to bring the historical Christian faith to bear on the problems of our time and so truly to be a church here and now.
